Alectura lathami, the Australian bush, brush or scrub turkey and gweela in the local language is a large, ground dwelling, mound-building bird found in the rainforests, eucalypt forests, woodlands, scrubs and urban areas of eastern Australia from Cape York Peninsula to the Illawarra region of NSW. Have black-brown plumage, a bald red head, yellow neck pouch (or wattle) and an upright fanlike tail. They are solitary, shy birds that live in a set area, foraging on the ground for insects, native fruits and seeds. Clumsy flyers that only take to the air when threatened by predators or to roost in trees at night. Generally quiet but sometimes make soft grunts and males have a deep 3-noted booming call.

Brand story
Pixie Nut & Co. first began in 2016 with a range of recycled greeting cards, and has since expanded into a beautiful collection of Australian-inspired accessories and clothing. Designer Philippa works from home in an off-grid community in Northern NSW, surrounded by subtropical rainforests.
"I’m originally from Perth where I draw much of my inspiration. Western Australian is so beautiful, I went up and down the coast a lot as a kid. I’m also inspired by my current surrounds in the Northern Rivers and all the amazing bird life here and various road trips around the country, especially the red center. I'd always wanted to be an illustrator or fashion designer so it’s really cool that I've ended up doing something in-between where I can explore both dreams. 45 day returns: If you are not satisfied with a product that you ordered online (*exceptions below), you are welcome to return it to us within 45 days, unused, unworn, and in a pristine saleable condition with the original labels attached, packaging and we will refund your cost of goods. Items marked 'Final Sale' can not be returned unless faulty. *except skin and body care, makeup, food, underwear, earrings, and custom order items, which can not be returned for change of mind.

Standard: Once the order has shipped, it will arrive in 2 to 7 days depending on your destination.
Express: only for orders up to 4kg and excludes bulky/heavy items.
Heavy/Overwight Orders: Order overs 5kg in weight will attract a $5 extra weight surcharge.
Click & Collect: choose your local store at checkout and your order to be there within 2 to 4 working days (1 working day for Milton warehouse). Please wait until you receive an email or text to advise that your goods are ready to be collect.
International: Flat rate shipping for orders up to 2kg. International orders are not subject to sales tax, so most prices are less 10% when purchased from overseas.
