Brand story

Light My Fire's central purpose is to 'create products that reconnect us with nature.'

Their founder, Michael Odqvist, was inspired in 1995 by the Guatemalan method of making kindling sticks from the stumps of felled pine trees. Establishing a relationship with the locals, Michael launched the MayaSticks in Sweden. Paired with their FireSteel product (inspired by the Swedish Army), it was a raging success.

Today, Light My Fire manufactures and sells from their very own factory in Sweden. Stocking every product you could possibly need to connect with nature, from eating utensils and robust tableware to fire starting and cooking equipment, they provide thoughtful, practical and sustainable solutions to every challenge faced by campers, hikers and travellers all over the world.

"From family grills in city gardens to cooking on the peaks of mountain ranges, our dream remains the same: To enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, to think of generations to come, to encourage the exploration of forgotten skills and to rediscover the art of fire."
