Features

We have created an amazing bar that dissolves easily and suds up enough to wash your clothes beautifully. It's a clever plastic free way to deliver a liquid laundry effect without any of the synthetic surfactants that rely on palm oil.

The beauty of our bar is that we bring the cleaning power and you bring the water in the most economical and eco-efficient way, out of your tap at home!

The cost

One bar makes 4 litres.  Based on using approx. 50ml each wash, that is up to 80 loads, which equals 31 cents per load. For 60 loads, it's 42 cents per load.

For stained, heavily soiled and smelly clothes, you may wish to pre-soak with the liquid in a smaller amount of water.  For larger volume loads, you may want to add about three tablespoons.

What's so special

  • Completely plastic free.  Not single use fossil-fuel plastic PVA like detergent sheets contain!
  • No petrochemicals.
  • Palm oil free.
  • No synthetic fragrance, or other synthetic ingredients.
  • No bulky water or powder to transport & add to CO2 emissions.
  • Biodegradable and septic safe.
  • Draws out grime and dirt.
  • Softens water.
  • Suitable for Top and Front loaders.
  • Zero waste - nothing sent to landfill after using the product.
  • Australian made.

How to use

Re-use any container or jar you already have, such as a glass pasta sauce bottle or preserve jar. For a convenient option with pouring spout and built in measuring cup we have this 1.1L Plastic Laundry Liquid Dispensing Container

Cut the laundry concentrate bar into eight. Add one cube for every 500ml of water.

Allow to dissolve for two to three hours, or just overnight.

Swirl the jar a little before each use (no need to shake as it just creates bubbles).  Use 50 - 100ml depending on your load, dirtyness and local water.

You can customise how much you use.  Honestly, the mainstream laundry and detergent sheet brands will have you believe they are a "perfectly delivered dose".  But, that is simply not the case.  There are so many different scenarios based on the size of your machine, the size of your load, and the hard or soft water in your area.

Would you like some other cleaning products to make the most of your order?

We recommend: Oxygen Bleach, Laundry additives for extra fragrance from essential oil blends, Stainless steel pegs, plastic free kitchen cleaning like a Redecker dishwashing brush, cellulose sponge.  Find them all  here

Ingredients / Materials

Plant oils and extracts, citric acid, and Lemon Myrtle, Eucalyptus and Blue Gum essential oils. No palm oil and no synthetic ingredients.

Dimensions

Bar is approximately 9cm x 6cm x 2cm

Care & Use

How much you use depends on your water, wash size and soiling of the clothes. We recommend testing different amounts to know how much is needed for you

Add 50ml (two tablespoons) into your wash (we used an old tablespoon measure). For a heavily soiled or large load, use 100ml.

For particularly stained, smelly or dirty clothes, the liquid works very well as as a pre-soaker. We suggest about 75ml of liquid into a mixing bowl size of water. Let the clothes soak for about 30 minutes and then place the lot into your wash (no need to add more liquid).

The bar will store for 18 months and the made up liquid for six months in a cool dark place.

    Works well

I used an old protein shaker bottle to mix this up and shake it before each use. It washes as well as any other laundry liquid I've used and love the reduced packaging waste. It smells good too. It is a thin liquid when made up, so pour carefully into your washing machine.

    Seems really good

But you changed the formulation quantities? I am using 1 cube to 2 litres as pers instructions that came with the bar. Seems to work ok. I don't have hard water issues....
